Dog Walking Around Warner

Warner is a great suburb for dog walking, with wide residential streets, connected footpaths, and access to quiet green spaces that suit both relaxed and more energetic dogs.

Our local caregivers regularly walk dogs through Warner Lakes, nearby residential loops, and shaded footpaths that allow for calm, predictable outings. For dogs that enjoy a little more stimulation, we use longer connected routes that provide variety while avoiding overcrowded off-lead areas.

Whether your dog needs a short confidence-building walk or a longer structured outing, we tailor every Warner walk to your dog’s individual needs, energy levels, and comfort.

Frequently asked questions

What checks and training do Furfolk dog walkers complete?

Before any walker begins working with Furfolk, they must first complete our tailored training programme and pass a thorough vetting process, which includes dog-handling safety tests, phone screening and police checks. Our top priority is making sure Pet Parents feel safe entrusting their dogs’ care to our walkers and caregivers.

When you schedule a dog walking service through Furfolk, you can chat with your Pet Caregiver before, during and after the walk. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like once you’ve scheduled your service. We also encourage our Pet Caregivers to ask Pet Parents about their preferences and their dog’s unique needs, so every walk can be tailored to your dog, not just the timetable.

How many dogs do you walk at once?

At Furfolk, we focus on tailored, low-stress walks that match your dog’s normal routine. We only walk dogs from the same household during each service, along familiar local routes. This way, your dog isn’t overwhelmed by unfamiliar dogs, and we can give your pets our full attention.

Can I meet my dog walker before the first walk?

Yes. We strongly encourage a free meet-and-greet before your first booking.

Your walker will come to your home to:

  • Get to know you and your dog

  • Go through your routine (feeding, walking routes, keys, alarms, etc.)

  • Check equipment fits properly (collar, harness, lead)

  • Talk through any health issues, anxieties or house rules

It’s also your chance to ask questions and make sure you’re comfortable before we start regular walks.

What if my dog has special needs, anxiety or reactivity?

Many of the dogs we care for have quirks, anxieties or specific needs, and that’s completely okay. When you book, we’ll ask detailed questions about your dog’s history, triggers, routines and any vet or trainer instructions.

We only walk dogs from the same household and avoid crowded areas or off-lead dog parks for anxious or reactive dogs. Your walker will follow your handling preferences (e.g. no off-lead, crossing the street to avoid other dogs, specific harness or muzzle use) so your dog can feel as safe as possible.

We’re not behaviourists or vets, but we’re happy to work alongside them and stick closely to any management plan you already have in place.

What happens during bad weather?

Your dog’s safety and comfort come first.

  • In light rain or mild weather, we usually continue with walks, sticking to safe local routes and towel-drying your dog afterwards if needed.

  • In heavy rain, storms, high winds or very hot conditions, we’ll either switch to a short toilet break plus indoor play/enrichment, or reschedule the walk in consultation with you.

We keep an eye on local weather warnings and will always choose the safest option for your dog, rather than pushing on just to “get the walk done”.
