Furfolk Privacy Policy

In plain language

We only collect the information we need to look after your pets, manage your bookings, and run Furfolk safely and legally. This includes your contact details, basic home and pet information, and what happens during your services. We don’t sell your data. We only share it with our team, trusted service providers, and your vet (or authorities) when it’s genuinely needed. We work hard to keep your information secure, and you can ask to see, update, or limit your information—or opt out of marketing—at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

5. Legal basis (Australia)

Under the APPs, we collect personal information only where it is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities. Sensitive information is collected with your consent and only to provide safe care.

6. Disclosing your information

We may share information with:

Some providers may store data outside Australia. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient protects your information to standards comparable with the APPs (contractual safeguards, reputable vendors, and access controls).

We do not sell personal information.

7. Data security

  • Multi-factor authentication for systems containing client data
  • Role-based access for staff and contractors (background-checked; confidentiality obligations)

No method is completely secure; if an eligible data breach occurs, we will follow the OAIC Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme, notify affected individuals and the OAIC as required, and take remedial steps.

8. Cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies to enable core functionality, remember preferences, and measure performance (e.g., Google Analytics). You can control cookies in your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect site functionality. If we use marketing pixels (e.g., Meta), we will state this here and provide opt-out options.

9. Third-party links and platforms

Our site may link to third-party websites or use embedded tools (e.g., map, booking, payment). Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies. Review those policies before providing personal information.

  • Request corrections if it is inaccurate, out-of-date or incomplete
  • Withdraw consent for direct marketing at any time

To make a request, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity. We aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.

11. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above (and to comply with legal, insurance and tax obligations). Access instructions (e.g., key-safe codes) are retained only while necessary for active services and are deleted when no longer required. We securely destroy or de-identify information when it is no longer needed.

12. Children

Our services are intended for adult pet owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the involvement of a parent or guardian.
