Why choose Furfolk to sit your Ferny Hills pets?

More than just “popping in” – we care for your whole household.

  • In-home comfort – Pets stay in their own beds, with their own smells and routines. Perfect for anxious, senior or medically fragile pets.

  • Experienced local sitters – Police-checked, insured and trained to handle different pet personalities and needs.

  • Clear communication – Photos, notes and updates after every visit or overnight stay, so you’re never left wondering how things are going.

  • Flexible visit schedules – From once-a-day feeding to multiple visits plus overnight stays – we’ll build a plan around your pets, not the other way around.

  • Home care included – Mail, bins, blinds and basic plant watering can be built into your visits so your home still looks “lived in” while you’re away.

Furfolk is part of a small, owner-operated Pet Sitting Brisbane Northside team – so if something changes, you’re dealing directly with locals, not a faceless app.

What we can include in your visits

You can mix and match visit types depending on your pets and your trip:

  • Standard pet sitting visits – Feeding, fresh water, toilet breaks, playtime or cuddles, basic tidy-up around food and litter areas.

  • Dog walks during sits – Short neighbourhood walks or structured, private walks for dogs who need extra exercise or one-on-one attention.

  • Cat and small pet care – Litter trays, brushing, play, cages or enclosures cleaned as needed.

  • Medication support – Simple oral medications and basic treatments as discussed at your Meet & Greet.

  • Overnight stays – A sitter sleeps in your home, perfect for pets who don’t like being alone overnight or for higher-needs households.

  • Home care extras – Mail collected, bins in/out, blinds and lights rotated, basic plant watering.

If you’re not sure what you need, we can start with a simple Ferny Hills pet sitting plan and adjust once we know how your pets cope.

Ferny Hills locals looking after Ferny Hills pets

Our sitters know the area well and understand the rhythm of life in Ferny Hills.

For dogs that enjoy a wander during their stay, we typically stick to quiet, familiar streets around your home or head towards nearby green spots like George Willmore Park or the Lomandra Park surrounds for a gentle on-lead sniff and stretch – always based on your instructions and your dog’s temperament.

For indoor-only pets, we focus on enrichment inside the home – play, puzzle feeders, grooming and calm company – so they feel secure even while you’re away.

Frequently asked questions

What type of pets do you care for?

While dogs and cats are our most common clients, we also care for a range of other pets. From birds and chickens to fish, reptiles and small animals, we’ll always confirm what’s involved before booking to make sure your pet is matched with a carer who’s comfortable and experienced with their needs.

How does the sitter gain entry to my home?

To make visits smooth and stress-free, we’ll confirm the safest way to access your home during your meet & greet. Many clients use a lockbox or secure key location, while others prefer an on-site solution such as a side gate or garage entry.

If none of these options work, we’ll discuss alternatives that suit your home and schedule. Your carer will only access your property for booked visits, and all access details are handled securely.

Can you give medication or look after pets with special needs?

Yes. Many of our carers are experienced with medication, seniors, anxious pets and animals with specific care plans. Just let us know the details at your meet & greet so we can match you with the right carer and document everything clearly.

What if there’s an emergency?

If we’re ever concerned about your pet, we’ll contact you (and your nominated emergency contact) immediately. Where needed, we’ll take your pet to your nominated vet or the closest available clinic and keep you updated every step of the way.
