We're here to help!

We know trusting someone new with your pets is a big deal. That’s why we’ve answered some of the most common questions below — so you know exactly what to expect before booking. If there’s anything else you’re unsure about, we’re only a message away.

How do I book a walk?

Booking a walk is simple. You can request a service directly through our online booking form or by contacting us via phone or email. Once we’ve received your request, we’ll confirm availability and match you with a walker who suits your dog’s needs and personality. After your first booking, you’ll be able to easily schedule future walks or visits with just a few clicks.

Do i get to meet my Furfolk carer?

Yes. For new clients we’ll organise a quick meet & greet so you can meet your carer, walk through your pet’s routine, and confirm access instructions (keys/lockbox/alarm). It’s also a chance for us to learn your pet’s preferences, triggers and any medical or behavioural notes so the first visit runs smoothly.

Do you look after reptiles, fish, and other animals?

We care for a wide range of pets, not just dogs and cats. If you have birds, chickens, fish, small mammals or reptiles, let us know what’s involved and we’ll confirm whether we’re the right fit (and match you with a carer who’s comfortable with that species).

How do you handle cancellations?

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, simply let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations made with at least 24 hours’ notice are free of charge. For same-day cancellations, a small fee may apply to cover your walker’s time. We always do our best to be flexible and fair — our goal is to make things easy for both you and your pet.

What happens in bad weather?

Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. If it’s lightly raining or cool, we’ll usually continue the walk — most dogs love a bit of adventure! For heavy rain, storms, or extreme heat, we’ll contact you to discuss options. We can shorten the walk, move it to an indoor play session, or reschedule at no extra charge. Our goal is to make sure your pet stays happy, safe, and cared for in all conditions.

What if my dog has special needs?

We regularly care for dogs with medical, behavioural, or mobility needs. During your meet & greet, we’ll discuss your dog’s routine, medications, triggers, and any extra support they need. Our walkers are patient, experienced, and happy to follow your instructions closely — whether that means slower walks, medication at certain times, or specific handling techniques. If your pet needs specialised care, just let us know so we can match them with the right team member.

How do I know when my dog is walked?

You’ll receive a real-time update as soon as your dog’s walk begins and ends. After every walk, your walker sends a short report through the app (or by text/email, if you prefer) with photos, notes about how the walk went, and any important details — like toileting, water refills, or behaviour. You’ll always know exactly when your dog was walked and how they went.

Do you walk puppies or senior dogs?

Yes, we’re happy to walk both puppies and senior dogs! If your pet requires shorter walks or specialized services, just let us know, and we’ll accommodate their needs.

Do you dog walk and pet sit on weekends and holidays?

We offer weekend and holiday care, subject to availability. Public holidays may attract a surcharge depending on the date and service type — we’ll always confirm pricing upfront before you book.

Do I have to provide anything for the pet sitter?

Yes, just the essentials your pet is used to. Please leave out their food, treats, leash, collar or harness, any medications, and favourite toys or bedding. It’s also helpful to provide clear feeding and care instructions, your vet’s details, and an emergency contact number. We bring our own supplies for clean-ups and enrichment, so you don’t need to worry about that. The goal is to keep your pet’s routine consistent and stress-free while you’re away.

How do you keep my keys and home secure?

Your privacy and security are extremely important to us. All keys are labelled with a discreet code (never your name or address) and stored securely when not in use. Only your assigned carer and our management team have access to them. We follow strict key-handling and access protocols, and we never share entry details outside of your authorised carer. If you prefer, you can also use a lockbox at home — we’re happy to work with whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

What happens in an emergency?

If there’s ever an emergency, your pet’s safety is our top priority. We’ll first ensure your pet is safe, then contact you (or your nominated emergency contact) immediately. If urgent veterinary care is needed and you can’t be reached, we’ll take your pet to your nominated vet or the nearest available clinic. Afterward, we’ll keep you fully informed about what happened and any care provided. Every Furfolk carer is trained to stay calm, act quickly, and follow your instructions to the letter.
